ONEDERBAR LONDON RETURNS!
MHDPC AKC Trial - Vancouver, WA
November 17-18th, 2007
Well, London was back up to 26 inches at this trial ... and what do you know, he dropped a single bar in both otherwise clean runs on Saturday! Heh. Oh well, my timing was much better anyway, and no one can say he didn't keep the other 98% of the jumps up, so I'll be a glass half full kind of girl I guess. His standard run on Saturday was the fastest of all jump heights, so I'm happy with that! Our jumpers run was nice too, a late cross I think screwed up his line and he dropped that bar. Rats! Fun runs though, we were having a great time despite the chilly, soggy weather.
Sunday London managed to keep ALL the bars up and we got 2nd in standard, but blew our jumpers run when I actually PULLED LONDON OFF A JUMP! Wow, how often does that happen? Another really fun run, and I was proud of him, he's trying very hard to stay with me. Just a fun weekend overall, it's almost getting to the point where running London is getting as effortless as running Fenwick - I never thought I'd see the day!

HIGH IN TRIAL LONDON
Timberland Valley Dog Fanciers Association AKC Trial - Tumwater, WA
October 26-28th, 2007
As an experiment, I entered London in a couple trials at 20 inches with the theory that maybe that would give us enough leeway to earn those final two double Qs he needed for AKC nationals next year. I had recently counted and realized we had lost out on SEVEN double Qs due to a SINGLE knocked bar - it was driving me a little crazy, so I decided to try something different.
Apparently my plan worked! 20 inches is nothing but a speed bump for the Bun, and not a knocked bar to be seen all weekend. Of course, he barely even needs to jump at 20! Sure, my timing was late, late, LATE all weekend attempting to adjust to the lower jumps, but we had fun just the same.
London went 5 for 6 over the weekend, with two double Qs and a high in trial too! London even held his own in the large, speedy class of 20 inch border collies, which was a pleasant surprise. In the end London came home qualified for nationals (thanks to Daisy running him in Jumpers on Saturday!) with a 1st place, three 2nd places and a third. Not too bad for my big booger!

LONDON WINS THE GRAND PRIX!
Black CAT USDAA Trial - Vancouver, WA
October 13-14th, 2007
London had a great weekend at the USDAA trial, absolutely LOVING the 'border collie' charged atmosphere as always. Only knocked one bar all weekend (in an otherwise lovely standard run, naturally!), and had an awesome Grand Prix run coming in first with the fastest time of all dogs. London turns 4 at the end of this year and I think he's really come into his own.
Other highlights of the weekend included a 2nd place standard run where London actually saved my butt when I wasn't in position where I should have been - this is a first, I think! Daisy Peel also ran him in jumpers for me at the end of the weekend for a stunning run, which I also believe ended up with first place - it was gorgeous! London had a beautiful steeplechase run (in the DARK as the power had gone out!) until right at the end he popped his poles at 10 ... TWICE! Heh. Oh well, better than a knocked bar!
Just a fun weekend with the Bun, he loves those USDAA trials, that's for sure! He also has an AKC trial at the end of the month where I entered him at 20 inches ... that should be interesting!

BACK IN ACTION
Portland Agility Club AKC Trial - Vancouver, WA
September 22-23rd, 2007
London and I had our first trial weekend back after our summer off. Saturday was pretty shakey, but we were more in tune with each other by Sunday. Missed another double Q by a single dropped bar ... but hey, I've got to be used to that one by now, right? Both jumpers runs just had the single bar, unfortunately - but our standard run on Sunday was lovely. A fun trial once I got my focus back - and we're going to work on staying focused for the USDAA trial in October with all three dogs!

TAMMY & LONDON MX!
Columbia River Agility Club AKC Trial - Hood River, OR
August 31st - September 3rd, 2007
London headed off to "CRAC Camp" with wonder handler Tammy Moody for the four day trial in Hood River. It was too far for me, but Tammy let the Bun tag along and join in the fun! They even played around in FAST for the first time, easily picking up his Novice Fast title with his first three runs. Even more fun, Tammy and London finally finished up his MX with a stunning first place run.
They were really coming together nicely by the end of the weekend, so we'll definitely try to convince Tammy to bring London with her more often when she travels - London just loves it!

HIGH IN TRIAL LONDON!
Flat Coat Retriever AKC Trial - Central Point, OR
July 27th-July 30th, 2007
London and I headed down to Southern Oregon last weekend for a relaxing vacation with a little agility on the side. We got in plenty of swimming and some nice agility runs as well! London ended up going high in trial on Friday ... and we kinda went downhill from there. Mr. OneDerBar made a reappearance, but luckily is evil nemisis Cranky Heather didn't follow so we both had a grand time despite our little bobbles. A very fun trip - and we're very happy to be back home!

2nd PLACE NW REGIONAL STANDARD
USDAA NW Regionals - Canby, OR
June 30th - July 2nd, 2007
Three very long days of agility, agility and more agility followed by an endless number of border collies running ALL THE TIME certainly made for a very excited London at the regionals this year. By the end of the weekend, he was pretty fried. London, the 'good' dog, was cracking a bit, ripping through his kennel, sassing back to me over basic manners and shooting off to new and exciting places on course. Overall I was very pleased with our runs, London only dropped one bar all weekend from an very late front cross - and we did an insane amount of runs. I can't fault a dog that just loves the game - and he was more amped for the final run at 7pm on the third day than he was all weekend!
Certainly I would have loved to have many do-overs over the course of the trial, but no real complaints about London's performance - he held up his end of the deal. Our team (Prot Zooming n London with Proton and Zoom) even managed to qualify, so that made feel better with some of our mistakes. We're going to take the summer off and work on swimming, hiking and being a dog - it should be fun!

MORE QQing for LONDON
Portland Agility Club AKC Trial - Canby, OR
June 16-17th, 2007
What a fun weekend with perfect weather and a small trial to make the days short and relaxing. London had four great runs, keeping all his bars up! We had a refusal in one run on Saturday, but pulled off a double Q on Sunday. London was trying SO HARD to keep the bars up this weekend, pulling off some amazing stunts to keep those long legs from dangling even when my handling was, uh, less than perfect.

LONDON VISITS CAMP TAMMY!
German Shepherd Dog Club AKC Trial - Canby, OR
June 1-2nd, 2007
What with family obligations this weekend, I wasn't really focused for our runs on Saturday. London had a lovely standard run aside from an offcourse, but our jumpers run was laughably bad! I wasn't able to run London myself on Sunday, so I sent him off with Tammy for the rest of the weekend. They did great together - Just one bar short of a double Q! We're definitely going to do this again, London just had a fabulous time while we were gone, no worries at all. He loves it at Camp Tammy!

HIGH IN TRIAL LONDON!
DOUBLE Qs & MXJ!
Eugene Kennel Club AKC Trial - Eugene, OR
May 25-28th, 2007
London had the incredibly bad luck to cut his paw on the first day of this four day trial, but after spending a couple days recovering he came back to end the trial with a bang! 2 double Qs in a row with 2 first places and 2 second places and a High in Trial - even with a sore foot! And to top it off, he even finished off his MXJ - Go, Buns! London was the perfect little traveler and the perfect patient as we worked on his foot all weekend, he really is a sweetie through and through!

LONDON WINS GRAND PRIX!
Fleet Feet Tournament USDAA Trial - Turner, OR
May 19-20th, 2007
London had a FABULOUS weekend, leaving his alter ego "The One Bar Wonder" at home for all but one run. If London can keep the bars up, he certainly can do well! London won the Grand Prix as well as Team Jumpers, and his team "Indy takes a Risky trip to London" with Indy and Risk ended up in third overall. Other than a less than impressive snooker run, London did fabulous in all his classes and we had a great time this weekend. He's now qualified for everything for nationals!

LONDON GOES MAD!
RAT USDAA Trial - Elma, WA
April 14-15th, 2007
A really fun weekend with the Bun, he managed only to drop a single bar in TWO runs this weekend, so that's sort of an accomplishment! London had a full weekend and managed to pick up the last legs his needed for his MAD, including his first Super Q being run by Daisy Peel - and they won the class! London also made it into the Steeplechase finals (where he missed the SECOND jump, what's up with that?), and basically had a wonderful time (as always).

LONDON DROPS A LOT OF BARS
WAG USDAA Trial - Corvallis, OR
PAC AKC Trial - Canby, OR
March 24-25th, 2007
Well, maybe not exactly a LOT of bars so much as ONE BAR PER RUN. London had many beautiful, perfect runs at the USDAA trial on Saturday ... except for that one bar he dropped in Standard, Steeplechase and the closing of the Gamble. Arrrgh! Oh well. A missed weave entry and bad handling gave us no Qs on Sunday at the AKC trial as well. Fun courses, London looked really good, we'll keep working on it!

LONDON GOES 3 FOR 3 IN JUMPERS!
Columbia River Agility Club AKC Trial - Albany, OR
March 16-18th, 2007
London the one bar wonder was back this weekend, dropping a single bar in two otherwise lovely standard runs, so no double Qs for us (I'll take responsibility for that last NQ!). Still, for London to qualify in three consecutive jumpers runs - that's unheard of! They were all nice runs too, I'm really proud of how far we've come in jumpers. Now if he could just keep those damn feet up for a few runs we could get a few double Qs to go with them! A very fun trial and a great birthday present for me!

ANOTHER JUMPERS Q!
Mr. OneDerBar Makes an Appearance
Mt. Hood Doberman Pincher Club AKC Trial - Vancouver, WA
February 3-4th, 2007
London had some more nice runs this weekend ... but London the One Bar Wonder was back again, dropping a single bar in otherwise great runs on Saturday, but he kept them up for another Jumpers Q on Sunday. And I'll take responsibility for that last no Q, sending London right up an off course aframe! Oh well, can't win them all. And after struggling for so long with jumpers London is now actually halfway to his MXJ! Though we're going to take some time off from agility for a while and just relax ...

ROSE CITY CLASSIC!
London Takes 1st and 2nd in Jumpers!
Rose City Classic AKC Agility Trial - Portland, OR
January 19-22nd, 2007
I really debated on whether or not to enter London in this trial. He'd never been on mats before, and this was quite the different environment than your average agility trial. I decided to give it a try though, and I'm glad I did - we had such a fun weekend! London adjusted beautifully to running on the mats and had some just fabulous runs. We finally seem to be able to do jumpers these days! The loud environment, change of surface, announcer and crowds of spectators didn't seem to phase him at all. I was so impressed with the Bun!
We had many 'almost' runs that were just spectacular along with a few actual qualifying runs where London placed in every time, even with the experienced competition in the 26" class. I wanted to see how we would do against those faster dogs and was totally happy to see that London could not only come close, but even beat them when we could pull it together! Still have lots to work on, but look out for us next year, we're getting there!

LONDON KEEPS HIS BARS UP
CAT USDAA NW Cup
January 6-7th, 2007
I realize I don't have many concrete accomplishments for London this weekend - but he really did fantastic this weekend. The big news is that out of 8 runs he didn't knock ANY bars (well, the broad jump doesn't count!), and as that's been a real focus with us lately, I was enormously pleased. London did fantastic, we just had a little issues that held us back. I was enormously pleased with his times, his contacts, his focus - it's really coming together and I was very proud of him this weekend and had a fabulous time running him. He did get a Masters standard Q, and most of our issues were caused by bad handling, not by any latent dorkiness. No complaints - he looks great!
