FLYBALL & AGILITY IN THE SAME WEEKEND!
Poco earns her V-NJC in style!
Muddy Paws a Flyin' Tournament & WAG NADAC Trial
July 9-10th, 2005
"Senior Citizen" Poco kept herself busy this weekend competing in a flyball tournament on Saturday and finishing up the weekend with agility on Sunday! Not only that, but Poco earned her first agility title, her Veteran's Novice Jumpers title with first place! Especially as we almost missed our run and just ran out to the line and went, I was really pleased how in the game, focused and fast she was. This golden oldie isn't slowing down any time soon! Go, Poco, go!
Poco still hates to get her photo taken, even after all these years ...

FLYBALL POCO SAVES THE DAY!
Muddy Paws a-Flyin' Flyball Tournament
X-Fidos 'Aliens'
Portland, OR
April 16-17, 2005
Poco was ready to fill in at a moment's notice with our team of newbies running their first tournament this weekend. She got to relax and do some recalls until our veteran dog cut his foot! Which meant me running both Poco and Fenwick at the same time again on Saturday! Poco also stepped up to lead dog position, with no signs of confusion at all. She was happy to be there, happy to run, and didn't mind at all getting shuffled about from handler to handler as we managed to run Poco first and Fenwick last. Did she ever ONCE make a mistake? Nope! Poco is, as always, perfect!
Thankfully her always reliable services were not needed for most of Sunday, as with the mats I didn't want to run her too much now that she's getting older. She was more than happy to step in, once again, for the last race of the tournament though! Always ready to save the day! Hooray for Poco!

POCO QUALIFIES IN JUMPERS!
CAT NADAC Trial
February 26-27th, 2005
Canby, OR
Poco the Recreational Agility Dog proves that practice does not make perfect as with pretty much NO practice whatsoever Poco pulled of a Q and first place in Novice Veteran Jumpers! Poco runs purely for fun, doesn't know the meaning of 'off course' as we never correct a mistake, and steering her is like trying to turn a train. She only does rear crosses! Yet even with all that, she had two amazing runs this weekend, running like a dog half her age.
We had so much fun out there together, whether we qualified or not. Poco requires that I release all expectations from her and only step to the line for fun, and she's always right. The best runs of the weekend were with my Poco girl ...

FLYBALL POCO FLIES AGAIN!
Muddy Paws a Flyin Tournament
Canby, OR
January 22nd, 2005
Poco emerged from semi-retirement to attend the first even Oregon flyball tournament this weekend. With very minimal practice beforehand we weren't sure how Poco would do at the tournament. Add in that Fenwick and Poco were to run in the same races together, it was going to be a challenge! But amazing Poco pulled through yet again, never missing a jump and only dropping the ball prematurely a few times. Not only that but she stepped up and ran as lead dog for the first time ever! I think she would prefer not to have to share her races with the ever barking Fenwick, but she seemed happy to be back in the game!
