ALL UR QQ R BELONG 2 US!
FENWICK WINS THE NW AGILITY LEAGUE!
Winter 2007
For the second year in a row, Fenwick's agility league team has come in first place after 7 weeks of region wide competition. ALL UR QQ R BELONG 2 US was made up Fenwick, Max & Bonnie, Zorro & Mary Lynn and even Brisbee & Bruce (really!). I really think it's the name that made the difference, the other teams were intimidated by our leet skillz. QQ POWER!

2nd PLACE STEEPLECHASE!
Black CAT USDAA Trial - Vancouver, WA
October 13-14th, 2007
Hard to believe that Fenwick is 7 now, seems not long ago at all we went to our first trial which was a Black CAT trial down in Canby. I always enjoy this trial, even if it is usually freezing cold - but not this year! Goregeous weather, great courses, fun judges - just a great trial! And Fenwick and I were happy to be playing again, we hadn't trialed since the regional so it was so nice to be out there with my little guy again.
We were a little rusty, I won't deny it! I made some very stupid handling choices that screwed up some otherwise lovely runs, but I just can't get upset. I just feel very thankful for any chance that I have to be out there with my Fenwick. He's been amazingly sound and healthy this year, and that's all I can really ask for.
One milestone for us was me NOT doing anything stupid for the steeplechase! I think because steeplechase courses tend to be pretty straightforward my handling gets sloppier and I can't believe how many times my bad handling has caused issues in the steeplechase! But two problem free runs, and we brought home some gas money this time!
Two nice standard runs, one of which I nearly screwed up but Fenwick saved my butt, and the other that I DID screw up (rear cross, WHY?) but Fenwick looked great. Grand Prix I screwed up and made such a badly timed front cross that I didn't even present the right obstacle to the poor dog!
That's okay, Fenwick got go play with Suki this weekend in Gamblers and Snooker and they had a great time! Daisy also ran Fenwick for me in jumpers, and that was adorable.
Fenwick had his normal sensitivity and overstimulation issues in the trial environment, which is why I don't feel bad we haven't trialed as much as we could have. I hate to see when his little nubbin goes down, and I only see that when he's tired and stressed at a trial. He does enjoy being the center of attention at trials, but there is always the stress. I really do wish AKC would let us play, just a couple runs a day and going home earlier ... I think he'd like that. And so many more small dogs!

2nd PLACE REGIONAL GRAND PRIX!
USDAA NW Regionals - Canby, OR
June 1st - July 2nd, 2007
The NW Regional was bigger than ever this year, around 400 dogs and 1200 runs a day - it was crazy! So I was really proud of Fenwick for doing so well in the chaotic environment for three long days. He was just exhausted by the third day, poor little guy. Fenwick came in second in both the first and second rounds of the Grand Prix - and the first round he had to run TWICE since the timer malfunctioned! We also made it to round two of steeplechase with our strangely consistant bobbles ... where, once again, we bobbled and didn't make it into the money again! Steeplechase - bah!
Fenwick's team (Earth, Wind and Fire with Windy and Bungee) managed to qualify despite the fact that Fenwick was just exhausted by Monday and our runs were all over the place. I should have known better than try to run all three days, that was an insane amount of runs and the days went really long. We won't do that again, but we had some amazing runs that were so effortless - Fenwick is the best agility partner a girl could have! I feel incredibly lucky to have him in my life and still playing agility at 7 even with all the physical issues he's gone through. I love my Fenwick!

TMAG FENWICK!
Teacup Agility Trial - Turner, OR
June 23-24th, 2007
Fenwick finished the first half of the TDAA championship title this weekend, earning his TMAG title. He still needs 6 more standard legs, and with about one to two TDAA trials held locally every year, it could be a slow process! We always get a kick out of the tiny equipment and itty bitty courses. Some of the courses are a little unfair for a 'big' dog like Fenwick, but TDAA is an interesting challenge!

HIGH SNOOKER SCORE IN TRIAL!
Fleet Feet Tournament USDAA Trial - Turner, OR
May 19-20th, 2007
What a fun weekend for Fenwick! We headed down to the Fleet Feet tournament trial, and with only DAM team classes and Grand Prix we had a fun, but not overtiring, weekend. Fenwick was his normal happy self, he won Team Standard as well as Team Snooker - with the highest score in the trial too! Fenwick has a snooker advantage, it's pretty easy to get him to bypass obstacles by encouraging him to jump up and bite me. Fenwick's team 'Beg, Borrow or Steal' with Kells and Mozart ended up qualifying, which finally gives Fenwick his Tournament Master title, as well as qualifying him for nationals. Fenwick's still going strong these days!

FENWICK WINS THE GRAND PRIX!
RAT USDAA Trial - Elma, WA
April 14-15th, 2007
Fenwick had a fabulous weekend up in Washington, staying focused and driven through both days, even with an overnight stay in a hotel. We managed to flub both standard runs (usually our best class!), but Fenwick pulled off a win in Grand Prix, fastest time in the first round of Steeplechase (damn that broad jump!), and finished his Jumpers Masters title winning jumpers as well. We won't talk about Gamblers. Again.

TSAD FENWICK!
TDAA Trial - Sherwood, OR
April 7-8th, 2007
It's been a slow process, but Fenwick finally finished his Teacup Superior Agility Dog title this weekend. What with there being at least THREE teacup agility trials this year, maybe there's a chance Fenwick will get his TACh someday after all! As usual, the equipment was adorable, the courses fun and Fenwick and I enjoyed this very cute version of agility.

1st PLACE MASTERS JUMPERS
WAG USDAA Trial - Corvallis, OR
March 24th, 2007
Fenwick did just one day of the USDAA trial, and had a great standard run ... but missed his aframe contact - how often does that happen? We added another NQ to his pile of gamblers runs (no surprise there), and a nice jumpers run to his collection. Any weekend spent with Fenwick is a good one, and the shortened trial was really good for the both us. We have another full USDAA trial in April that will keep us plenty busy!

12 INCH FENWICK RIDES AGAIN
Fleet Feet CPE Trial - Turner, OR
February 17-18th, 2007
Fenwick still gets a little crazy with the 12 inch jumps in CPE, attempting to launch himself from spectacular distances as he doesn't seem to think they're REAL jumps at all. Still, he definitely enjoys himself and Fenwick had a great weekend in typical Fenwick-style, qualifying in 7 out of 8 runs. He finished off everything he needed for Level 4 except a single jumpers run, so it's off to level 5 for Fenwick from here on out.

"TEACUP" SIZED FENWICK
"Big Dog" in a Little Dog World
TDAA Trial - Sherwood, OR
January 13-14th, 2007
Teacup Agility trials are few and far between in our area, so it's always fun to play in the venue, even if it's only one trial a year. This was a two day trial, the largest TDAA trial in our area yet. Fenwick was the token 16" dog, though, not many 'big' dogs on the scene. Fenwick actually did quite well for not seeing the equipment in a year. We had the most problems with the variable positions on the table (stand, sit or down), sort of unfair for me to change the rules of the table only for these trials! The close spacing caused a couple knocked bars in his standard runs on Saturday, but Fenwick still added 3 more games Qs and another standard Q to his TDAA collection. With talk of the possibility of three more TDAA trials this year, maybe we'll actually get that TACh someday after all ...

FENWICK RELAY & SNOOKER MASTER!
Qualifies for 2007 Grand Prix and Steeplechase
CAT USDAA NW Cup - Ridgefield, WA
January 6-7th, 2006
Another year, another narrowly missed NW Cup for Fenwick. Once again Fenwick had a phenomenal standard run on Saturday, his time beating all but a couple of the fastest 22 inch dogs. Then on Sunday he had another great run with ONE KNOCKED BAR. Heh. Oh well, there's always next year ....
Fenwick also had a fantastic Grand Prix run, but a bad cue caused a refusal at the end of the course. Still, he's now qualified for nationals. Also in Steeplechase, where our first run was pretty sketchy, and our finals run was going great ... until another poor cue by his handler caused an off course. We DID manage to pull it together for Fenwick's last Super Q, so Fenwick got his Relay Master title, and the wonder stafford Idgie held the team up for Fenwick's last Relay Q. Still no Gamblers Qs ...
